Frequently Asked Questions

  • Ok, this is where it took us a lot of time too.

Essentially, the global print and photography space is littered with inconsistencies when it comes to print size, photograph dimensions, frame measurements, and mount openings. It is common for one print shop or photographer to sell prints in very different sizes and dimensions to another. This can result in confusion, frustration, and sometimes disappointment.

In our print shop, we have tried to make everything as clear and consistent as possible for you. All the prints are available in several sizes with a one-inch border included.

Before buying, there are also two important terms to understand and distinguish between:

    · the 'print paper size' = how big the paper is.

    · the 'printed photo size' = how big the printed image is on the paper.

So, for example, a 10" x 12" print order means the total size of the paper (the 'print paper size') is 10" x 12"; the actual image on the paper (the 'printed photo size') is 8" x 10” due to the inclusion of the one-inch border on all sides.

We have not made prints available in A1, A2, A3, or A4 dimensions, and sizes are not presented in centimetres (just convert them if required).

  • Unfortunately we do not. There are a few reasons for this, but the main one is that it would significantly increase the costs of each print & delivery.

Instead, we recommend you buy your print first and then find a suitable frame you love.

To help, we have arranged a 15% discount with a UK bespoke framing company who offer affordable, good quality frames to deliver! Just click here, choose your frame type, and enter the relevant dimensions. The code applies at checkout.

If you already have a frame and want one of our prints to fill it, then just ensure you are purchasing the correct 'print paper size'. If you have already have a frame with a mount, then please ensure that the 'mount opening' dimensions are appropriate for the 'printed photo size' in addition to the frame being suitable for the 'print paper size'. We have included a framed print (including mount) for illustrative purposes only.

  • The ability to ship securely and reliably to international readers was really important to us, so we charge a flat rate delivery fee of £4.00 per order, irrespective of where you are in the world. This is charged in addition at the checkout, and full shipping confirmation and tracking details will be sent by email.

Delivery is free for orders of £70+

Unfortunately we cannot provide minimum delivery timescales for orders, but UK orders should arrive within 3-5 working days.

  • We only charge the £4 in order to cover our shipping partner's fees. There are no additional charges for UK & EU customers.

However, as with all companies, we cannot guarantee that there will be no additional charges (e.g. customs taxes or import duties) required by your home country customs office in order to receive the delivery. Tax and import duties can vary between country to country, and delivery to delivery. Please understand that we are not responsible for charging any of these additional fees in the event they are charged, and we cannot be expected to anticipate, cover, or refund them.

For UK customers, prices include VAT.

  • Our selected UK printer receives each order and is responsible for printing, quality review, packaging, and delivery.

  • We reviewed a number of printers in order to select one which puts sustainability, as well as gallery-grade quality, at the core of its business practices. Our selected printer is a carbon neutral company and has selected printing materials which reduce their impact on the environment without compromising on print quality. This includes packaging and delivery materials which are recycled, recyclable, or biodegradable.

The selected paper is vegan, with no animal or genetically modified ingredients used. Its manufacturer is also committed to a number of meaningful projects and processes to reduce its environmental impact and ensure sustainability in the supply chain. They only use paper resources from sustainable forest management areas in order to preserve and protect biodiversity, the renewal of the forest habitats, and decrease the impacts of exploitation of forest areas for future generations. The paper made at their mills is also certified for the traceability of the wood fibres from an origin of non-threatened forests.

  • We spent a lot of time personally reviewing options to select the best paper for our photography, and for your prints. Although we cannot share the paper we use, we can confirm that it is heavyweight, museum-grade fine art cotton Giclée paper - and what a difference it makes to the images! The delicate detail and colour of each is presented beautifully with depth, quality, and zero shine, and the paper itself is rich to the touch.

    We adore it.

However, choosing a high-quality paper which is used in art & photography galleries does mean the base costs for our prints is higher than you may see for generic travel prints in Etsy or Amazon. Please rest assured that this is because we have personally chosen the best quality materials and printer for our photography, in order to present our work in a manner we are happy with and deliver a premium product to you.

Hand-trimmed and suitable for mounting, the paper does have a delicate surface, so we recommend extra care when handling.

  • It's important to not simply talk about how things can improve in the world or causes, but to contribute toward them. Along Dusty Roads donates to five charities regularly (World Animal Protection, Survival International, World Land Trust, ActionAid, and Inti Wara Yassi) and, in addition to this, we pledge to give 10% of our net profit per order to a nominated charity.

Our selected charity will change with each new collection, and donations will be made once the specific collection has been removed from sale.

  • We have decided to curate and offer individual collections in limited numbers, and for a limited time period. Each collection will remain available to buy for no more than three months.

Each print size is available in a batch of one hundred, and you will receive a signed certificate with your order to confirm your print(s) is part of a limited edition collection from Along Dusty Roads.

  • We personally printed and reviewed samples of everything available in this collection to ensure the photos are of the highest quality - this was really important to us.

However, if your print arrives with a printing defect or has been damaged in transit, then please contact us as soon as possible on hello@alongdustyroads.com with order details and a picture of the print issue.

  • We really hope you'll like what you order, but we cannot give refunds or returns if you change your mind before or after receiving your artwork.

Refunds or reprints can only be provided due to defects or damage in the print.

  • We'd love you to share a photo of your print if you're happy about it! Please just tag us (@alongdustyroads) so we can see it and share the good news.

The only thing we ask is that you do not share images of the Limited Edition certificate, paper type, or our printer partner on social media.
