Vibe | Quiet hostel, converted from a family home in the 1990's.
Location | Four blocks away from Zocola and a 10-15 minute walk to St. Domingo, on a quiet street, Tanguyuu's ideally located for tourist attractions, restaurants, shops and bars, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle so as to allow a good nights sleep.
Best Thing | We were exceedingly fortunate to have secured the best room in the hostel – a large double with lots of light, a private bathroom and a small private balcony with access to the main terrace overlooking the city.
Worst Thing | The stairs up to the top floor are somewhat of a death-trap! The only social/eating area was the roof terrace, so if there was bad weather, you would be forced to eat in your room.
Value for Money | If we had stayed in one of the much smaller, darker rooms we probably wouldn't have been nearly as satisfied with this posada's value for money. However, as it stood, the quality and size of the bedroom was superb as compared to what we have spent in other hostels.

Recommended For | The hostel has a number of studios and offer discounts for long-term stays, making this an ideal option for those either studying Spanish in Oaxaca or simply planning on spending more than a week. The younger, more social crowd are probably better off at nearby Cielo Rojo.
Top Tip | If possible, take a look at the different rooms before securing your booking as the quality of rooms vary considerably. There are at least two rooms in this property that we would not be happy to stay in.
